The E4 Equity Project invites Crete-Monee High School students, parents, and educators to engage in learning and dialogue about educational equity and social justice topics. Through curated lists of books, podcasts, and videos, the Crete-Monee High School community can explore the diverse perspectives of people from all backgrounds, as well as issues related to identity, diversity, and anti-racism/anti-oppression.
E4 Project Goals
EXPOSE: The E4 Equity Project is designed to help make the invisible visible when it comes to issues of systemic racism, sexism, heterosexism, classism, and ableism in our classrooms, school, and community. Only by facing our shared challenges can we achieve equity.
EMPOWER: The E4 Equity Project strives to empower the CMHS community to stand up for fairness, equity, and justice, in our school and in the wider world.
ENLIGHTEN: E4 Equity Project resources provide information and insight about the lived experiences of people from different social identities, as well as topics related to the struggle for social justice past and present.
ENGAGE: Through the E4 Equity Project, CMHS hopes to engage the community in discussions around the important issues of the day-racial justice, environmental justice, LGBTQ+ issues, etc...in order to make positive change in our school culture, and to promote justice in the community outside our walls.
